Artist Spotlight: Beautyspot

Vintage style and modern motives in Handmade jewelry by BeautySpot

"Just like 4 years ago we create each our piece from the very start - the idea. Then we find or create the right images, right materials, beads and findings. And then we put it all together and make it real with our hands.
It's the most exciting part - your have something in your mind and then you do the "magic" work, wait a little bit while resin dries and you already can hold that idea in your hands, turn it into the gift for the dear friend, associate it with some great moments of your life. That's what handmade is about for us - making and keeping it real."

Artist Spotlight: Handmade Handbags By Daphne

Handmade handbags by Daphne on Etsy

"I founded Handbags by Daphne with the idea to create a line of creative and original ageless handbags. By this I mean that I design my collection for women of all ages who like me, think outside the box. I create handbags for women who appreciate the look and feel of fine fabrics and textures, and appreciate originality, creativity and unique designs. My bags are for women who feel comfortable wearing impossible to miss bags.

Because I am both a designer and an artist, I strive to create works of lasting beauty that are also functional and versatile. In order to create my handbags, I am constantly searching European markets for the finest and highest quality fabrics and textiles. I then exquisitely handcraft each bag in my studio in order to create a one-of-a-kind or limited-edition collection."

Artist Spotlight: Saskia de Vries Designs

Artist Spotlight this week is Saskia de Vries Designs.  Saskia makes Earthy, Unique Ethnic International Jewelry.

"I draw my inspiration from old traditions and designs, and “funk-a-fie” them with bold and contrasting colors. On a recent yearlong trip in Asia I re-found my inspiration through a chance encounter with a Tibetan crafts seller in Lhasa. Now my jewelry has an Asian flair and is made with beads I have collected from all over the world. Most pieces are one of a kind."
